Easy wingy to prepare on the go. A unique visual style with a taste double the standards. An effortless twist to nourish your taste buds has never been this simpler.

This is a type of dish I would have everyday if I could and still not get bored of it. It’s that good! They are so many recipes of bbq wings out there. I like this one because it gives my taste buds a boost. Personally, I enjoy my wings a little crispy, hot and also a little sweet.

You can always adjust the BBQ sauce marinade on how you like your wings to taste like. For example: if you like your wings hot you will have to add chilli powder for seasoning the wings or add hot sauce when preparing the BBQ sauce.

This is my home made BBQ sauce marinade which can be used for making BBQ wings, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken drumsticks and more. These BBQ wings can be eaten as a snack or as an appetiser. They can also be served as dinner with a few sides. Just saying, this recipes is to die for!!

LETS GETS STARTED!!

Ingredients

  1. 1kg of chicken wings

  2. 2 tablespoons of oil

  3. 1/3 of teaspoon of salt

  4. 1/2 teaspoon of garlic granules

  5. 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

  6. 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper

  7. 1/2 teaspoon of paprika

  8. 240g of BBQ sauce

  9. 10g of ketchup

  10. 20g of hot sauce

  11. 60g of honey

Food preparation equipment

  • saucepan

  • Wooden spoon

  • Tong (fork can be used)

  • Large bowl

  • small bowl

  • Oven tray

Method

  1. preheat your oven to 220C (435F)

  2. Put your chicken wings and oil in a large bowl. Mix well.

  3. In a small bowl mix the salt, black pepper, white pepper, garlic granules and paprika. Mix until they all combine well. Now pour mixture into the large bowl with the chicken wings and combine well to coat and season the chicken wings.

  4. Put the wings in the oven tray and arrange them neatly. Then put the oven tray in the oven for 30-45 minutes. The first 15 minutes take out the chicken wings from the oven and flip them on the other side and put it back in the oven.

  5. While your chicken wings are in the oven you need to prepare your BBQ sauce marinade. Put the BBQ sauce, honey, ketchup and hot sauce in a saucepan and let it simmer on the stove for 5-7 minutes.

  6. Remove the chicken wings from the oven and put them in a large bowl. Now add the BBQ sauce marinade from the saucepan and combine well to make sure that the chicken wings are coated.

  7. Now put the wings back in the oven tray and put it back in the oven for 7-10 minutes until glossy.

  8. Now serve your chicken wings garnished with dried parsley or spring onions (garnishing is optional).

Can I prepare the BBQ sauce in advance? Yes you can. You can prepare your BBQ sauce a day or even hours in advance. This will save time when preparing the wings and also when you have other dishes to cook at the same time. It is also advisable to prepare the BBQ sauce a day before if u know that the next day u will be busy or if u have a massive dinner coming up.

Can the BBQ sauce marinade be frozen for next time? Yes it can. Once you prepare the BBQ sauce or if there is any left over from what u prepared, you can let it cool down and then put it in the freezer. It can last up to 3 months in the freezer. I advise you to put an expiration date or the put the date of when you put it in the freeze. This helps to eat up to date food. It’s healthier that way. Remember that once you defrost it you can’t put it back in the freeze.
