Tuna and cucumber salad recipe.


Another day, another yummy salad

Tuna and cucumber salad recipe, one of the modest recipes for the sea food lovers out there. Not only is it suitable for those with strict diets but also less expensive.For example : just as a salad ,wrap filings or to make sandwiches.


This Tuna and Cucumber salad is one of the easiest and quickest salad recipes. Each ingredient brings that special thing to the dish. The salad is low in calories. In addition, you are most likely to find all the ingredients in your kitchen. If not, don’t worry they are all affordable in the supermarket!

LETS GETS STARTED!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber

  • 1/4 lettuce

  • 1 medium red onion

  • 1/2 pepper (any colour)

  • 2 eggs

  • 150g salad cream

  • 2 small tins of tuna chunks/Sardines

(you can add tomatoes if you want)


Food preparation utensils:

  • Chopping board.

  • Chef’s knife (Sharp).

  • Can opener.

  • Large serving bowl/salad bowl.

  • Saucepan.

  • Salad mixing spoon.

Method:

  1. Boil the eggs for 10-15mins.

  2. While the eggs are boiling, start to cut the vegetables and place them in the salad bowl.

  3. Slice the cucumbers, pepper and red onions. Then cut your lettuce into any size you desire.

  4. Start to place the tuna/sardines in the bowl with vegetables. (if using sardines cut into small pieces).

  5. When the boiled eggs are ready and cooled, slice into thin circles and add them in the bowl.

  6. Add salad cream (optional) and mix well.

  7. Your salad is ready to eat! (Best served when chilled.)

Allergy advice/substitutes

For those with allergies, here are some other ingredients that can be used in your salad. If you are lactose intolerant, allergic to fish or eggs, here are some substitutes To use!

Substitutes:

  • Replace tuna/ sardines with chicken breast (cooked)

  • You don’t have to add eggs. You can add another vegetable e.g sweet corn

  • Replace salad cream with salad dressing
