Oven Baked Chicken Wings (Non breaded)

Not to say much but, this is my basic recipe of oven baked chicken wings. It is as basic as coating your wings with seasoning or spices and baking them in the oven for 40mins and "Voila" they are ready!

Ingredients

  1. 1kg of chicken wings

  2. 1tsp of chicken seasoning/all purpose seasoning

  3. 1/2 tsp of paprika

  4. 1/2 tsp of curry powder

  5. 1/3 tsp of salt

  6. 1/2 tsp of onion powder

  7. Dried parsley for sprinkling (optional)

Food preparation equipment

  1. Large bowl

  2. Tong/ fork

  3. Oven tray

Lets get to it!!!

Method

(At this point your chicken wings would have already been washed and dried)

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F/ 190°C/ 5 Gas

  2. In a large bowl put your chicken wings and then add onion powder, chicken seasoning, paprika, curry powder and salt. Using your hands, mix well until the chicken wing are all coated with all the seasonings.

  3. Prepare your oven tray and place the chicken wings. Put the wings in the oven and let them cook for 20 minutes. After the first 20 minutes turn the wings over for another 20 minutes or until the wings are cooked.

  4. Now that your wings are all cooked and ready to eat, serve them in a large plate and sprinkle them with dried parsley for decoration and to add that extra something :) This last part is optional.

What to serve the wings with

  • They can be eaten as a starter with a dip of your choice

  • They can be served with a meal

  • Thy can be served with fries

  • Nachos

  • Potato salad

How healthy are they?

Oven baked wings are more healthier than the deep fried wings. The oven baked wings drains the fat off the wings and the deep fried wings takes in the fats. If you are trying to loose weight, having oven baked wings is one of the best options. This is because it is low in calories and fat. Also they are rich in nutrients. In addition, if you want to have a better and healthier meal with chicken wing, a meal that will be high in fiber and protein. That would be a chicken stir fry with fresh vegetables. I mean why not add vegetables to make the meal more interesting and most importantly healthier.
